Where do we come from? What keeps us here? What drives us away?

Strategies help organisations clarify their fundamental goals, their position and their path into the future. Strategies create orientation, build trust and inspire confidence to maintain a clear vision of what matters, even through the turbulence of daily business. They create the strength and calm to perceive changes in the environment and act on them with due diligence.

A strategy map into the future

(r)evolutionäre ideen has developed a strategy map which helps organisations, teams and individuals find their way through the strategic process and manage change. The strategy map is a digital application which brings together the tools and principles of traditional strategy consultancy, participation and design. It is a consistent model with graphics and vocabulary rooted in the metaphor of a voyage.

“Do not go where the path may lead,

go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

What the strategy map does

Orientation and conception: project teams create a shared understanding of their strategy from the start. Connections become visible, and complexity can be managed in a flexible way.

Participation and identification: internal and external agents can place themselves on the map and contribute their knowledge and perspectives (wisdom of the crowd). This improves the quality of outcomes and gives the contributors ownership over “their map”.

Design and communication: Content is matched early on with design and communication tools. These are then tested (prototyping). During the process, images, narratives and pathways appear which make every project – and every map – unique. The resulting strategies are clear and elegant.

Structure of the strategy map

The strategy map integrates the areas of analysis, future, process and communication. There are tools and templates in each area to help you visualize your strategy step by step.
